New Striders!!
Bogotá, September 2019
Yes! after a 2 weeks break the show must go on, and with a refresh mind and strength we must keep working on establishing the Kingdom of Heaven on hearth!! so Last September we received Sara and Jenny the same day! to work for 10 months in 2 different projects in the south of Bogotá.
Jenny is from England and is going to work in a feeding program in a neighborhood called "Quiroga". Clara, the director of this project moved from another part of the city to this place years ago. With time, she realized that loads of kids where playing in the streets, without the care of their parents. Talking with them and some neighbors she found out that some of the parents of the kids where in jail, or working in prostitution or drug trafficking, or simply they didn´t receive the care of an adult, so Clara decided, one day, to open the doors of her house and feed the kids, and take care of them, that usually play in her street. Now, the feeding program is registered and feeds around 50 kids and Jenny will be part of what God is doing in this project.
After one month of Spanish school Jenny has the opportunity to live with Pipe´s aunty and auncle Patty and Alvaro and work in the project.
Sara is from Switzerland and is going to work with the Mennonite church and it's feeding program in Soacha "Comedor Pan y Vida". The Mennonite Church in Bogotá is working hard in social action among Colombian society, that´s why they decided to plant a church and the "Comedor" in this place, where levels of violence and poverty are very high. Today they feed and disciple 80 kids from vulnerable families of the community.
Sara will stay with Janneth, Sofia and Felipe, family that hosted 2 Striders before.
Please pray for them and their time in Colombia, for God to use them not just in their projects, but as well in their host families and everywhere they go!
