Covid-19, Our thoughts!

Bogotá, Colombia.

From the last 19th of March Bogotá has been in total lockdown because of the spread of the coronavirus in the country. we are fine, healthy and with all that we need.

Here are our thoughts meanwhile we are at home.

1. The Lord still reigning

Looks like world is in chaos! Economy going right down, virus is spreading quickly, people is dying and loads are getting ill, we don´t know when this situation will end! what else can go wrong? Yes. It looks awful. this is not a joke, feels like this virus is going to drown us! but we have to remember that God is God an He is in control. I red Psalm 93 yesterday and it says:

" The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.  Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.

The seas have lifted up, Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea – the Lord on high is mighty.

Your statutes, Lord, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days."

2. Stay at Home.. but what if you are homeless?

This is the big recommendation. Stay at home. But what with the people that doesn´t have where to go? Here in Colombia a big percentage of the population live day by day. No savings, no pension, but they have to keep paying rent and buy food. So please, every time during this quarantine, be grateful for your home. for the people that is around you, for the meals that you can cook and eat in a table. For running and drinkable water in your tap. but as well , pray for those who doesn´t have that and find charities and responsible organizations to give! Our God is a a God who cares of the poor, the widows and the orphans...please be generous with what God has been giving you.

3. Enjoy the company

I know that could be difficult stay at home all the time ( in Colombia you are allowed to go out just for food and medicines, nothing else). I found myself looking through the window wishing to do simple things like lay down in the grass of the park in front of us!

But i decided to do the most of this time. I decided to take this time as a precious time when God put all the "worries of this life" aside for me to enjoy this time with Abi and Chloe.

It had been a long time since i was not worried about the calendar in my phone, the whatsapp messages, the emails, the meetings, about being late, about run from one place to the other. When I work i try to put 100% of me on it, and it´s difficult for me to disengage when i´m with "my girls" at home. For me this is an opportunity to make great memories as a family, as parents and as a children of God, spending with Him the time that we normally can´t spend.

Playing with Chloe!! you could see some toys and a box with "infected" shoes in the background at the front door!

4. If we have no hope, then.. who?

If we have the Holy Spirit in us, we have Jesus. Paul talk about Jesus as "The the hope of glory" in Colossians 1:27. So if we have the Hope of Glory in us, please make sure that what you are thinking about and sharing around you and with your friends (no matter if they are believers or not) is Hope! Hope of a better future. In this life or in the eternal one we have hope and at this very moment that is what everyone is looking for! so be encouraged to share what you have in you! I know that it is easier to say than to do, i know! but the point is that , the hope that we have doesn´t come from us as humans. Comes from above! comes from heaven!

so if you are feeling hopeless ( i´m writing this because after a good time in the news i feel like that!!) ask for that truth to be alive in you! remember who is living in your chest and pray! give me your Hope! for me and to share with others!!
